RJ’s FLOUNDER, FLORENCE, FLO-JO, FLO-BO, WARRIOR PRINCESS Florence was the golden eyed black tweed girl that lived and loved in our family for over 6 years….. RJ’s Flounder ran 176 races from 1997 – 2000 at Bluffs Run, Dubuque, and Geneva Lakes, was a winner that reached retirement age, and came to Renewed Life at the age of 5 years…… Flo was allowed to run free in her first home, was hit by a snow plow, and then came back to Renewed Life,…..we fostered her while she healed, and of course, she never left – she fit with the pack here…..her nickname of Warrior Princess reflected her racing life and her encounter with the plow..... Flo-Jo was the sweetest winner, who always wanted to please, chewed her way out of a wire crate, barked to call for food, marked with the best of the boys, rooed in tune with the pack, “rode the shoulder” of Gusto coming in from outside – though he almost took her ear off once for it, she never stopped, found every poop in the yard, played with only one toy – a small yellow and black soccer ball, so of course we made sure that she had four of them, …… Florence’s perseverance, strong will, and determination were accompanied by a sweetness that will always be remembered here…..an angel in the Hegg pack, forever in our hearts!!!
