Colt

Last week Miss Colt went over the rainbow bridge. It was very sudden with no warning. She went outside with the other two greys and died running in the backyard. In talking with my vet she suspects Colt had a blood clot that went to her brain. Her death was instanteous. While it was painful for me to have her leave without saying goodbye, it was probably the best gift she could give me. I didn't have to make any decisions for her she made them herself.

Colt was only with us for a little over a year. She had been living with another family who couldn't take care of her anymore. I volunteered to foster her but as with all my other fosters once they come to the house they never leave. When she first came to the house, she was thin and had been dealing with bathroom issues. I never had a problem with her. And she was quite chubby at the end since she loved to eat and would often clean her dish and everyone elses. She was a real sweetheart. She LOVED stuff toys. She'd often run around the house tossing one around. She would sneak up on the furniture when I wasn't looking. I couldn't leave toilet paper rolls where she could reach because she would rip them to shreds. I think I lost six or seven rolls that way before I caught on to put them up higher. She hated car rides but loved to go to the park. She was willing to put up with the ten minute ride if it meant she could walk in the park. She was my shadow. Harley and Colt were buddies. Harley was outside when she collapsed. I can only imagine what he thought. That first night he was acting kind of strange but I guess that is to be expected.

We will miss this little girl but she never had to deal with a long illness or pain. I am glad she spent the time with us that she did.

Take care Miss Colt....say hello to Odie, Dutch and Cecil. Paula, Sophie, Harley and the cats
